Steve Garvey was born in December 1953 in Sefton General Hospital in Liverpool. His father was involved in transport and he too became very interested in it at a very early age. His family moved to Manchester whilst he was just a child and it transpired that he served what can only be described as an apprenticeship in the transport industry, starting as a youth of sixteen and working his way through his licences until he gained an HGV class one aged 21 yrs.of age. Most of his working life was in transport, although he has had periods in carpet wholesaling. He is retired now and lives in North Wales with his wife Pat. They have two grown up daughters and three grand children. He began writing his first book “The Road, To Ruin, And Back” in 2023 at the age of 69.
Steve has recently published a paperback and Kindle version of a children's bedtime story, he decided to write it as he had told it to both his daughters and his three grandchildren when they were all toddlers and they all loved it. The book is titled "Tommy Teddy Goes On A Picnic".
