Dr. Augustine Manneh Sumo is an expert in Public Policy. He has engaged in the development sectors as a civil society actor, development practitioner, researcher, historian, and academician. He had served at local, national, and international levels' development policy discourses and practices, mainly in the areas of policy advocacy, rulemaking, peoples' empowerment, social mobilization, social justice, livelihoods, governance, and resources management. He has more than 20 years of experience and knowledge of Liberian history, culture, and tradition. He is the Founder and Host of Memory Lane, a social media platform that features the true historical accounts of Liberia. Memory Lane was created in 2020 and it is intended to rewrite Liberian history.
Dr. Sumo is an expert in business management, development planning, and management for quality results. He is the founder and former President of the EFE International Sickle Cell Foundation. Dr. Sumo is currently Executive Director and Co-owner of PASSION CARE MINNESOTA, USA; a human service agency serving the elderly.
He is also Director and Co-owner at ROYAL SECURITY GROUP located in Los Angeles and Minnesota.
His current book, COPING WITH THE THREAT OF EBOLA and PAIN IN EXILE are on the market, including on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, Dorrance Publishing, among several bookstores.
Formerly, he served as a Legal Research Analyst at Oasis Legal Services, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Walden University, USA.
Before graduate school, Dr. Sumo graduated high school from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata, Liberia, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liberia. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy, Law, and Public Policy from Walden University, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. He also has an MPH from the California State University – Fullerton and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), Phi Beta Kappa Society, the Poro Society, and Masons of Delaware.
He was born in 1964, in Williestown, aka Behwillie, in Bomi County, Liberia, West Africa. Dr. Sumo possesses a unique background and cross-cultural understanding of Africa, Europe, and the Americas. He is a proud Liberian who believes that his place of birth does not define his destiny.
