Dr. Hugo Casanova

Hugo D. Casanova holds a PhD in Social Sciences, a Master's degree in Logic and Philosophy of Science and a Bachelor's degree in Statistical Sciences. He has conducted and published research on coupon lotteries, their random mechanism and the influence of marketing on the draws, as well as collective action in gambling and a sociology of lotteries; he has developed a Tabular Statistics as a result of the development of table software and the need to build methodologies for its construction and understanding by unifying criteria for the construction of tables by different software. He has also collaborated in the construction of a philosophy of statistics as a socio-political science closely linked to the sociology of law by way of the re-conceptualization of the census as a socio-political instrument of the state and society, research that continues since his doctoral thesis. On the other hand, he has developed in various work activities, especially in Market Research and Opinion Studies in private companies conducting countless field studies, has been director of statistics in various government institutions as well as research advisor and university professor.
