Sonya Hyde is a former elementary educator who has recently retired but now continues to contribute to the
field of education by teaching part-time alongside her faithful companion, Bodie, a Therapy Dog for the school
district. She resides in rural Potosi, Missouri.
Sonya received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Master of
Science in Education Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University. She enjoys training with
Bodie, CrossFit, her cats, and spending time with her husband.
Her inspiration for writing The Adventures of Buddy and Sal came from the unconditional love for two dogs, Buddy and Salvador. Each adventure described in this book actually happened, often to her chagrin. As time went on, these events evolved into cherished moments.
