Karen E Wilkes

Karen Wilkes was raised in a remote, historic, mountainous mining town in rural Nevada – home of one of the largest silver mines discovered during the mid-1800’s. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada at Reno with an English major and History minor.

Karen’s focus has been to profile ordinary citizens of Nevada who have made up the diverse fabric of the State. Her work encompasses religious leaders, miners, and even Irish gunfighters! Reading about the lives of these lesser-known citizens, the reader gains an intimate view into the workings and development of the State of Nevada and the wild west as well.

Karen takes great pride in the extensive research she does to bring these characters to life and hopes that sharing their lives will bring understanding and enjoyment to her readers.
