Jen Lyon

Jen Lyon is an award-winning screenwriter and speculative fiction author who believes the best stories ask hard questions—and then set the cosmos on fire to answer them. Her debut novel, DESCEND, blends layered mythology and razor-sharp humor into a saga where real science meets sci-fi/fantasy, exploring redemption, cosmic law, and the strange resilience of the human soul.

Born in New England, she’s always been drawn to stories—especially those shaped by the contrast of old and new, like the architecture of the United Kingdom that echoes in her own life’s design. Whether working in the time-honored field of medicine or diving headfirst into creative pursuits like writing and filmmaking, her goal has remained the same: tell meaningful stories, rich with universal truths (and always add a few hidden Easter eggs).

Her short films have earned dozens of international awards and premiered on platforms like Amazon Prime, Hulu and european streaming networks. Her work is known for its immersive dialogue, tightly woven plots, and characters who feel like they’ve lived a thousand lives—and maybe have.

When not building multi-dimensional systems of death and rebirth, she renovates her house, travels, kayaks, and is a steward to the many freeloading wild animals that live on her farm. She believes love is rare, loss is inevitable, and no one should die without telling their story.

She lives in the Berkshires with her German Shepherd, Klaus—who inspired Bunny, her most beloved demon.
