Andrea B. Hellman

Andrea Hellman, Ed.D. serves as a full professor in English at Missouri State University. She is a former assistant professor in teacher education and instructor in elementary education. Andrea is an acclaimed TESOL author who served as series editor for TESOL International Association's The 6 Principles series. Her additional TESOL titles include textbooks for assessment and school-based professional development. She directs Show Me Multiliteracy, a National Professional Development grant project for in-service teachers of multilingual students.

Literary Translation & Publishing

Andrea is a translator of Hungarian literature and the publisher of Duna Books, a series dedicated to bringing Hungary's rich literary heritage to the world in English.

She manages every aspect of her books, from writing and illustrating to cover design and publishing, utilizing a full suite of modern digital tools.

Andrea's children's books are visually striking, with each page showcasing vibrant, meticulously polished artwork. The narratives are heartfelt and relevant, focusing on themes of overcoming adversity through wit, grit, resilience, the power of support from friends and family, and a profound appreciation for the beauty in life and nature. Through her stories, she aims to inspire, educate, and entertain young readers, inviting them to explore worlds where every challenge is an opportunity for growth and discovery.
