The purpose and use for the UBF Daily Bread books are to be a daily study guide to encourage and guide the reader to read the Bible, apply it to their lives and pray. Each day is laid out with the bible passage to read, a devotional explaining this passage, a prayer and a one word. It is designed for the readers to read the whole Bible throughout the span of four years.
Each daily devotional is not tied to a specific date, the book has a calendar and corresponding date to follow along but the reader may choose to study the word at their own pace or jump to old or new passages.
The title “Daily Bread” is a very common phrase used in the Christian community and derives from Matthew 6:11, “Give us today our Daily Bread”. All the books under the pen name “UBF Daily Bread” are written by many authors in what we call the Daily Bread Team. Currently, the chief editor is Tony King and the three co-editors are Grace Baik, John Lee, and Esther Kim.
