David has had a very interesting, diverse, and complicated journey while navigating his time here on earth, primarily as a Virginia resident. He was raised in a small town called Jarratt, located in Sussex County. The first school he attended, Jefferson Elementary School, was named in honor of his family as the original school was founded by his great-great grandmother. He was ordained as a minister at Chapel Hill Baptist Church which was also founded by his great-great grandmother.
David is a founding member of the George Mason University Black Alumni Chapter and past president. He is a charter member of the Iota Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at George Mason as well as an honorary member of the Order of Omega. David is an intentional collaborator with a results-orientated focus that enhances that which he gives energy.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Decision Science from George Mason University where he has a 35+ year relationship as student, alumni, employee, donor, and fundraiser. He is currently the Executive Director of Brand Development and Licensing at his alma mater. Later, he received a Master’s degree in Theology from Howard University where he decided to accept his calling to the ministry. His passion lies in inspiring young minds to achieve greatness, a mission that brings him peace.
David’s international travel experiences, especially to Egypt and Ghana, have enriched his perspectives. Finally, he is an avid sports fan of George Mason Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, and the Golden State Warriors.
