Wendy Johnson

Dr. Wendy E. Johnson is an independent public policy scholar and activist for light sensitive people. As an educator, she established an innovative pilot program supporting Light Sensitive Learners in a NSW high school, and negotiated inclusion of the term “learning differently” in the Australian Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

Dismayed by the lack of progress in subsequent years, and the ongoing challenges faced by Light Sensitive people, Wendy completed her PhD in a burgeoning field, the study of Policy Inaction. That research is synthesised in her book "Light Sensitive Learners; Unveiling Policy Inaction, Marginalisation, Discrimination".
