Ivani Greppi, born in Brazil, hails from a lineage of spiritist mediums. From a young age, she was attuned to the presence of spirits, seeing into the spiritual realm. At fourteen, Ivani was introduced to Umbanda, a syncretic spiritual practice blending African Yoruba Ifá faith with elements of spiritism and Roman Catholicism, deeply rooted in Brazilian culture.
In 1997, a transformative encounter with a Brazilian missionary pastor in Florida led Ivani and her family to salvation in Jesus Christ. Drawing from her personal experiences, Ivani wrote "Cast Out: Chronicles of a Familiar Spirit," a Christian historical novel. The book delves into Ivani's spiritual journey and that of her immigrant ancestors, spanning one hundred years across three continents. Ivani is a retired Registered Nurse residing in Northern Florida alongside her husband of forty-six years, Maciel. Together, they recently embarked on a new adventure, settling into a rural area with a backyard overlooking a vast state forest. Their days are now filled with the excitement of tending to their adorable chickens, cultivating fresh vegetables, and stocking their pond with tilapia and bluegill. This beautiful setting provides not only inspiration for Ivani's creative endeavors but also serves as a haven for her beloved grandchildren and family to enjoy.
