Souvik Chakraborty

Dr. Souvik Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Delhi. He also holds a joint appointment at the Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr Chakraborty's research interest is at the intersection of scientific computing and machine learning, with a focus on developing novel and scalable machine learning algorithms for solving mechanics problems at different scale. His pioneering work encompasses a broad area including uncertainty quantification, reliability analysis, design under uncertainty, inverse problems, etc. He has received a number of awards in his career including the INAE Young Engineer's Award 2022, which is bestowed upon exceptional scholars under the age of 35. In his short career, Dr Chakraborty has authored over 100 articles, and is one of the leading researchers in the area of digital twin and scientific machine learning.
