Philip.R Broom

Philip Broom is a UK-based author who has made the jump into writing after spending over 30 years working in the television industry as a cameraman. Working on a huge range of programmes such as Grand Designs and Come Dine with Me, a programme which provided many humourous experiences.

He specialises in fast-paced thrillers and particularly loves a twisting, turning plot that wrong-foots the reader at every opportunity. He also tries to keep his plots believable, even when the action involves magical, law-defying stones.

Although he started screenwriting whilst at Film School, the lure of working at home and abroad as a cameraman was too enticing and all-consuming. A job which entailed traveling internationally and meet people from all walks of life. When the global television industry took a dip in 24, he found he had some spare time on his hands, he returned to writing.

What initially started as an exercise to see whether he could write a novel soon became an overwhelmingly enjoyable experience. He is already well into writing the sequel to Pole Stone, his debut novel. So look out for Time Stone coming to all good book outlets soon.

He is married with two grown-up children and lives near Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
