Why write children's books?... Well, I kind of fell into it. Lifes journey had led me away from my "best made plans" into a highly stressful situation that was negatively affecting me, both mentally and physically. Eventually the pressures became too much, and I found myself needing a "time-out" to get my health back on track. I found myself reflecting on simpler and happier times and I thought it would do me good to write about some of the more positive aspects of my life before I got too old to remember it all.

What started out as a private journal, soon became something more. I realized that this could be a fun way of memorializing some of my family history as a surprise for my parents. But why stop there? Creating a children's book series could be a light and humorous way of sharing these positive moments with more than just my family.

You see, all the stories in the series are based on true events that have occurred before and during my lifetime. Both my parents encouraged and created opportunities for me to experience the great outdoors with the good and bad combined.

This children book series is a mishmash of mishaps and successes that both my father and I have experienced jointly and separately throughout our lives. My Mother on the on the other hand is the creative one who preferred to keep her feet dry and would be ready to "pick up the pieces" when we got home. She must have been responsible for my "dormant writing gene" that took a lifetime to discover (thanks mum!)

I thought it would be a fun way to memorialize some of the crazy stuff we got up to. Thanks to them I have loved living it, and I hope that by sharing these tales, that both kids and parents not only enjoy them but will be inspired to get outside and experience some of the magic that I was so lucky to have been blessed with throughout my journey.
