Michel Lee Garrett is an author, editor, Pennsyltucky poet, and recovering journalist. She is the author of the crime fiction collection "Born a Ramblin' Man" and the editor of "Burning Down The House: Crime Fiction Incited by the Songs of the Talking Heads," both available from Shotgun Honey. She is currently editing a nonfiction anthology titled "Transcendent Love: True Stories of Trans-for-Trans Relationships," forthcoming from JKP Books. Her work has appeared in the Anthony Award-nominated collection "Trouble No More" from Down & Out Books, and a story she edited for "Burning Down The House" was selected for Best American Mystery & Suspense 2025. A queer and transgender author, she lives in Central Pennsylvania where she spends her time writing and advocating for LGBT+ rights.
