If you give a man a Breadfruit, you feed him for a day, but if you give him a Breadfruit Tree, you feed his family for the rest of their lives.
Raul Bermudez is a Trinidadian author, humanitarian, and passionate advocate for sustainable living and food security. Best known for his national breadfruit initiative, Raul has personally distributed over 10,000 breadfruit trees across Trinidad and Tobago, driven by a vision to empower families through self-sufficiency and community resilience.
His debut children’s book, The Breadfruit Three, was inspired by his own journey of overcoming hardship, his deep love for Tobago, and his lifelong belief in the power of kindness and entrepreneurship. Through storytelling, Raul shares a hopeful message that even the simplest seed—when planted with love and intention—can transform lives.
Raul continues to inspire change by combining cultural heritage, education, and environmental advocacy. All proceeds from his books go toward purchasing and distributing breadfruit trees to families in need, helping to build a greener, more food-secure future for generations to come.
