Ana Nolan is an introverted extrovert who loves sitting by the sea, eating cheese and onion crisps, and exploring the countryside. Since retiring from many years in health care – from newborns to the elderly – Ana believes her next adventure is just around the corner.
In her narrative non-fiction book 'Goodnight Lisa, See You In The Morning', Ana shares her heart-warming story of raising a child born with a life-limiting condition and her journey through divorce and bereavement to encourage and inspire families, and those who work with them. Joining a new children's hospice planning and building team as an advocate for families and successfully raising three million pounds, the children's hospice supports hundreds of families across three counties in England.
Since publication in 2020, Lisa's story has been broadcast via TV and radio interviews to millions of people around the world, touching hearts and transforming lives; proving that ordinary women can achieve the impossible by the power of prayer.
When Ana's sons had flown the nest, Ana moved to South Africa where she lived for six years. Exchanging her daughter's wheelchair for a season of unforgettable friendships amidst breathtaking scenery was surely a healing balm to the soul.
The darkest hour is just before dawn...
Highlights include supporting families in an informal settlement, meeting inmates at a maximum security prison, and being the keynote speaker at a hotel conference centre on National Women's Day.
A close encounter with a deadly Cape Cobra – curling up her kitchen bar stool – did not poison her passion for the rainbow nation. Neither did Eric, the grumpy adult baboon who invaded a Cape Point restaurant and snatched Ana's chocolate fudge cake off her plate.
A contented grandmother with a wacky sense of humour, Ana currently resides in East Sussex, England. Thankfully there are no baboons.
