Sally Ellen Scanlon

Sally Ellen Scanlon is not just a storyteller; she is an entertainer, encourager, and energizer. For most of her life, she has used these skills as a clown performing at birthday parties and library story hours, as a children's sermon pastor giving object lessons in church, as an ophthalmic technician teaching patients and coworkers about eye health, and of course as a reader to her own children and grandchildren.

The main character in the "The Dog With No Tail", H.D., came to life after they adopted an Australian shepherd dog, which is different from other dogs because he does not have a tail, often being called a "wiggle butt". During the course of this series of books, the main character, H.D., will learn the hard way that he is different from other dogs, will visit a variety of locations, meet other animals with different tails, and learn how they also have unique talents.
