Born in southern California, A. A. (Alison Andrews) Vogel lived in Saudi Arabia and England with her parents as a teen, went to boarding school in Switzerland, and finally settled down in the greater Seattle area with her husband.
Alison has been an aerospace scientist, a soccer mom, a liturgical artist, and a technical writer. Now she writes YA fiction because that’s what she loves to read. Scratch the surface of any good YA story, and you get at least one important life lesson to learn/relearn right along with the hero. Like how to forgive, trust, or overcome fear. Teens grapple with that stuff every day while studying for the math test. They’re the real heroes.
When she isn’t writing, you can find Alison baking blueberry muffins, going for walks, or knitting. She’s a member of The Writing Mastery Academy, the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and the Episcopal Church.
