Melanie Doctors is the author of Saints and Swimmers and Sleep in Peace. She writes stories that celebrate the beauty, mystery, humor, and heart of being human. Her novels invite readers to look closely at the world around them and within themselves. Her characters are deeply flawed people whose lives are forever altered by love, loss, laughter, and the mysteries that connect us to one another.

Melanie lives in Boise, Idaho, with her husband, Mike, and their beloved animals. She is the founder of Sorcière Publishing, an independent Boise-based press. Travel, music, odd little discoveries, and a certain amount of Boise magic have a habit of turning up in her work.
