Frank Kunert

Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1963, Frank Kunert began photographing as a youth and initially was especially interested in landscape photographs. After graduating from secondary school, he began training as a photographer and learned studio work in the process. The possibility of creating illusions with artificial light fascinated him already at that time, and for a long time now his creative work has been focused on designing and photographing miniature sets. He makes a good living from it and thus has numerous houses and cars—most of them on scales ranging from 1:12 to 1:43.

Frank Kunert’s works are regularly presented in exhibitions in Germany and abroad. The artist has received numerous awards for his work, including the Heinrich Zille Caricature Prize, the silver medal of the Biennial Dimensional Salon in New York, and the German Photo Book Award in Silver.
