Byron Gibson

Welcome to the profile of Byron Gibson, a man whose life has been full of diverse experiences. In the early 1990s, he established a Thai-boxing academy in Cambridge and quickly became renowned as a champion trainer. He even made history as the first fight promoter to sell out professional Thai-boxing shows in the city. Throughout his journey, he has taken on various roles, including construction work, and even dove into the world of street markets, travelling to the outskirts of London and East Anglia to sell goods he acquired from his adventures in Thailand.

However, Byron's most significant opportunity came in 2008, when, by chance, Jean-Claude Van Damme cast him as a gangster in his film. This was the start of his career in the movie industry. His talent shines brightest in his portrayal of the antagonist or anti-hero, earning worldwide recognition for his iconic torture scene in "Only God Forgives." With his extraordinary background and commanding presence, Byron Gibson continues to make a mark in the world of entertainment. He is known for performing his own stunts and has collaborated with industry icons such as Kristin Scott Thomas, Ryan Gosling, Armand Assante, Steven Seagal, and esteemed directors like Nicolas Winding Refn and John Woo. He has also worked on noteworthy British gangster movies like "Rise of the Footsoldier Marbella."

Now, Byron has embarked on a new venture as an author, adding another chapter to his creative pursuits. His debut book, "It Ain't All Glitz & Glamour," which delves into his life in the film industry, was published in April 2024.
