Dr Emily started out in the kitchen, as a private chef on superyachts no less. Then she got the science bug.
She is a registered dietitian and research scientist at King's College London, holding a BSc in Nutrition, MSc in Dietetics, and a PhD in nutrition and the gut microbiome. Her research includes the EAT-FIBRE study, part of Cancer Grand Challenges Team PROSPECT, a Harvard University-led global research programme.
That path, from professional kitchen to research lab, shapes everything she does. Healthy eating should be simple, and it should taste good.
Dr Emily is a columnist for The Daily Mail, an international keynote and TEDx speaker, and regularly appears on TV and radio. She is a frequent contributor to the BBC, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, and The Guardian, and authors Second Brain, a weekly newsletter on gut health and nutrition.
She is the author of Genius Gut (2024) and Fibre Power (2026).
