Sally Fairhurst has worked with children throughout her professional career. She received her degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in counseling from the University of Florida.
In addition to teaching, she has a long career counseling high-risk students, helping them cope with difficult life situations. She has co-authored a 16-session curriculum for at-risk students.
Ms. Fairhurst completed Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification. This prepared her to teach English as a second language in person as a volunteer in Russia and Peru and online to children in China.
Ms. Fairhurst has an avid interest in traveling and learning about other cultures. She is interested in activities that improve health and has completed 8 marathons.
Ms. Fairhurst’s wish is for children to enjoy her books and find encouragement as they face some of life’s changes.
