Leigh Porter Cutrone is a Jersey girl and she is proud of it! She is also a wife, mother, grandmother of five, a blogger of The Senior Class, an author of "Camden and His Superpower Ears Go to a New School" and has been a long-time freelancer for many publications.
Leigh has always LOVED writing. In fact, Leigh recalls that her English teacher in 12th grade told her she should be a writer. Obviously, that made an impact on her because she remembers all the details many years later! However, after working for Archibald Cox at Harvard Law School, she turned to the law.
Years after her career working as a litigation paralegal, her grandson, Camden, was born profoundly deaf. When he was in Kindergarten, he stood in front of his classmates and shared with them all about what it is like being deaf and how cochlear implants help him to hear. Camden’s self-confidence prompted Leigh to write a children’s book about this experience. The message of the book is an important one. Each one of us is different and that is what makes us all wonderfully unique and very special. After many edits, rewrites, over many years, her baby was born!
Enjoy!
