Gale Forbes

The author is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Architecture. He designed buildings and prepared specifications for private and governmental users for better than fifty years, forty in his own practice. He regularly wrote expert opinion reports for circuit and federal courts, developed and presented building code training programs for building officials and inspectors. HIs essays have appeared in various trade magazines.

After turning his architectural practice over to others, his interest and energy turned to short fiction. Finding success with short stories, he ventured into historical fiction with his first novel, "Mother's People", a tale of nineteenth century immigration, based on his own family. His second novel, "Changing Time", follows a third generation fisherman at the turn of the nineteenth century as progress comes to his remote village. His third, which picks up the story of "Changing Time" twenty years later, is expected to be published in fall of '25.

The author and his wife are avid sailors, and live in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
