Sumit Kumar Sharma is an unmanned systems professional with over a decade of experience across fixed-wing, multicopter, and VTOL platforms. With a background in defence and aerospace, his interest in aviation evolved into a career in unmanned aerial systems. Since 2017, he has worked with early-generation flight controllers, airframes, and UAV integration, taking multiple platforms from concept to flight. In 2019–2020, he developed Agribot, India’s first DGCA-approved agricultural drone for aerial spraying. From 2020 to 2023, he contributed to the Indo-Turkish DCM Trishul drone development program at DCM Shriram and worked on aerial survey, photogrammetry, and LiDAR applications. Since 2023, he has been working as a Test Engineer at Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, validating multiple unmanned platforms. He is also the author of Drone Development from Concept to Flight and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
