Mike McBride

A decade of pilgrimages to Santiago has given Mike McBride a valuable insight into the do’s and don'ts of The Way. He describes himself as a Camino addict with a writing problem.

Mike’s working life started as a labourer in a scrap metal yard before joining the UK Ministry of Defence and later the British Police Service. In his spare time he was a soldier in the Army Reserve and the author of several non-fiction works on policing, security and military history.

After retirement from the police Mike worked as an asset protection manager for a multinational company before retiring, again, in 2021. He lives in the South of England and volunteers for local charities when he is not riding his motorbike. He divides his life into two, he is either walking a Camino or he is at home thinking about walking his next Camino.
