I'm a former English tutor and teacher. I became an author after the death of my son, Bobby, who fought a 10-year battle with addiction. He liked to write, so Dear Bobby also includes his poetry and journal entries which provide insight into addiction from his perspective. Knowing that our story can help others to navigate theirs has been gratifying. When dealing with someone we love who is struggling with addiction, life can be chaotic and alarming, and we have no real control. Knowing that we and those we love are not alone is comforting and helps us to feel understood. My hope for Dear Bobby is that it provides comfort and understanding for those in similar circumstances. I'm continuing to add to the conversation by writing blogs which I hope to gather into a second book. I love to travel with my husband, Bob, and daughter, Hannah, read, ride my bike on the Philadelphia area trails, and spend time with family and friends. I live in Chester, PA with my husband, a geriatric foster cat and a feral cat that my husband is convinced he's going to domesticate. Since cats always have the last word, I'm not sure about that.
