Glenn Schmidt has successfully reinvented himself several times. A Wisconsin public schoolteacher by trade, he became President of his local (the Sun Prairie Education Association), rising to national and international responsibility with the National Education Association. He lobbied Congress many times on behalf of children, teachers, and other education employees and often served as a delegate internationally to Education International, the global union of teacher unions. After teaching for 32 years, he worked as a union organizer then spent 9 years editing a Labor newspaper. Through his entire life, he has been a traveler and travel writer, for both local and national publications. His book, Travel Lessons: Your personal guide to better travel, reflects the knowledge and skill he has accumulated in taking travelers all over the world at reasonable cost on itineraries designed specifically for their interests.
