Benno Schmidt

The author has worked for many years as a German teacher for the university and the French Chamber of Commerce in northern France, where he does all his travelling by bike, around 500 km a week, 25,000 a year. The cycling teacher preceded the Tour de France for three weeks and, on the occasion of the Tour's centenary, covered the 467 km of the original route of the very first stage of the Tour, from Paris to Lyon.
