Michael Chris Knapp

Hello! I'm Michael Chris Knapp and I write novels. I am a former professor who spent three decades teaching at the University of Southern California, Texas Christian University, and the University of Oklahoma. I also taught overseas during the summer months. Those teaching assignments included stints in Finland, France, and Italy. During my spare time, I served as an expert witness in criminal and civil lawsuits prompted by a wide range of financial frauds. My most exciting consulting engagement involved three years that I spent working with the FBI and US Department of Justice on a white-collar crime investigation.

During my years as a professor, I wrote textbooks, including a best-selling auditing casebook. I have since transitioned to writing novels. Each of my novels has been inspired by fascinating people who I have encountered during my travels, trials, and tribulations. If you enjoyed Kesey's Cuckoo's Nest, check out my most recent novel, The Khaki Corridor, which revolves around the unforgettable characters who reside on the maximum security ward of a state mental hospital--I spent most of my undergraduate years working the graveyard shift on such a ward to finance my education.

Happy reading! I would love to hear from you!
