I love the Bible so much. I guess I have to write about it to even have a hope of getting a fraction of my thoughts about it in some tangible, helpful form. I have a few Bible degrees, two of which are master's degrees from two different universities. I only include that because it seems helpful to others to know that I have some established base of knowledge from which to speak. However, in my wife's and my teaching and learning and now having a teaching ministry (EatScripture) which we have led for several years, I can honestly say that the higher-level academic education each of us has received has not given us the best insights upon which all our ministry is built--insights about Jesus throughout his Word. Hence, my three books. The insights included simply come by extended time spent with him deeply enmeshed in his overwhelming, often-shocking, but abundantly filling and fulfilling written communication to us, his children.
As for particulars, I live in Lubbock, TX, where my wife and I have reached empty-nester status. Fortunately, that means we have also reached grandparent status and for that we are ever grateful to the Father whose gifts are, at least sometimes, abundantly obvious.
