Chris Chiancone

Chris Chiancone is a local government technology leader who believes AI should make public service better, not scarier. He leads digital transformation initiatives that directly affect more than 140,000 residents, bringing safe, secure AI agents and modern processes to the organizations he serves. His work on AI in local government has been featured in the Journal of Public Affairs Education, and he has held the CISSP certification for more than twenty years. Chris won a DallasCIO ORBIE Award in 2026 after being named a finalist in 2019 and 2023. He has keynoted the FutureCon Cybersecurity Conference and spoken at AWS, Dell and ORBIE events. He is the author of Overcoming the Fear of AI for Non-Technical People and Nobody Gets Fired: The Local Government Leader's Guide to AI, Automation, and a Leaner City. Through his books, speaking and LinkedIn content, he helps leaders see how AI can solve real problems without replacing human judgment.
