Robert G. LaPointe

Robert G. LaPointe is a distinguished educator and prolific poet who lives in a rhyming world. He dedicated over 35 years to teaching 4th grade in northern New York and was honored with the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America Award in 1973. Robert began writing poems as a shy boy trying to win smiles and hearts through verse. This passion evolved into a lifelong endeavor, channeling his creativity to bring laughter, encouragement, and care with his words. Inspired by dreams, experiences, and goals, Robert's poems capture heartfelt memories and humbly share life lessons.

Over the past 20 years, Robert has penned countless poems as "Poppy the Poet" for his granddaughter, Claire Elyce, each poem lovingly typed by his wife, Norma, aka "Nana the Typist." He frequently gifts poems to family and friends, cherishing every smile or tear from his audience. Aiming to cultivate listening skills, spark imagination, and foster respect for seniors, Robert's poetry resonates with readers of all ages.
