Brad Cook

Bradley "Brad" Cook is an Appalachian author of horror fiction, regional history, and poetry. Shaped by years of working at one of America's most famous and haunted national landmarks, his writing is influenced by the weight of real places, real stories, and real emotions.

His nonfiction explores the observable world around his home, focusing on the forgotten towns, folklore and people of West Virginia and their stories. His fiction carries that same level of gritty darkness into new territory, with allegorical monsters that represent the worst of Appalachia's generations of abuse. His poetry exists somewhere in between, drawing inspiration from the monsters in the dark, the monsters of the mind, and the deep love he carries for all those he is lucky enough to meet.
