Edward Tabor is the author of Unusual Encounters: Medicine, Shakespeare, and Historical Moments, a book of essays. He is a physician and medical researcher who has worked at the U.S. National Cancer Institute (National Institutes of Health), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Fresenius Kabi. He is also the author of the books Infectious Complications of Blood Transfusion, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies for US Drug Development, and an editor of the books Etiology, Pathology, and Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in North America; Hepatitis C Virus and its Involvement in the Development of Hepatocellular Carcinoma; Liver Cancer; Viruses and Liver Cancer; and Emerging Viruses in Human Populations. He has also published widely about Shakespeare's writings, including the now-classic articles, "Plant Poisons in Shakespeare" and "The Eight Physicians of Shakespeare."
