Catherine Renzi

Catherine Renzi operated Yellow Springs Farm Native Plants Nursery and Artisanal Goat Dairy in Chester County, PA from 2001-21. During 20 years of farming, goat husbandry, and cheesemaking, Catherine, together with husband Al Renzi, created dozens of fresh, aged and bloomy rind cheeses. The cheeses were award winners at the American Cheese Society and PA Farm Show. A number of Yellow Springs Farm cheeses incorporated native plants from the Farm; they connected local landscape with the local food system in many ways.

The Yellow Springs Farm plant nursery featured native species beneficial for water and land conservation, including building bird and pollinator habitat. Catherine is a landscape designer and consultant, and visual artist. She has completed dozens of residential, non-profit and commercial projects with emphasis on native plants,

Catherine has an A.B. in Art/Architecture from Smith College and a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She became interested in farming, landscape and conservation through a lifelong passion for growing food, flowers, and raising all sorts of plants and animals.
