But the only person to ever call her Helen Fiona is her mother... when she's in trouble...

She's a Melbourne girl - born and bred - who recently traded gritty, inner-city for four beautiful acres in the Macedon Ranges. After a lifetime of laughing at international friends for asking if she has a pet kangaroo, she owes them all an apology as she now has a backyard full of them. She is incredibly lucky to share her life with a man who likes her Imaginary Friends almost a much as she does... though he's a little less enthusiastic when she tries to discuss them at midnight...

Her career 'path' was more like a long detour through a hedge maze, which gives her a vast and varied life experience to draw on. She'll happily admit to knowing 'more than a little and less than a lot' on a random and bizarre collection of topics. She has no sense of direction whatsoever, she doesn't let a lack of talent stop her from singing most enthusiastically and she's obsessed with the colour orange. Her compulsive People Watching will possibly get her into trouble one day. She sometimes wonders if her browser history for researching crime novels has landed her on government watch lists...

After many (many!) failed attempts to create a Literary Masterpiece, one day she just let what was in her come out... and a fast, flippant, possibly ridiculous mystery series (with frequent coarse language) started writing itself in her head faster than she could put it on paper. Welcome to the world of Cressida Carlisle, Psychic Detective.
