Jaakko Koivula pens YA fantasy adventures infused with sharp wit, twisted timelines, and spellbinding mayhem. His stories fuse moral dilemmas with magic, mystery, and the occasional absurdity, as he believes fantasy should challenge your heart and your humor. Jaakko loves to weave together not only timelines but plotlines—hence why his second book, The Mountain Ride, borrows a side character from his debut novel, The Grand Harvest.

A Master of Social Sciences major turned IT consultant, Jaakko lives in northern Finland, where the winters are long and the coffee is strong. As an avid reader, beyond fantasy, he’s also ventured into new weird and magical realism. If he’s not managing projects or hatching new plot twists, he’s probably singing baritone in a classical choir, dissecting a book on his Finnish blog Tavaus, or wrangling his two wonderful but rambunctious children.
