Michael Thomas Fuori

About the Author

Michael Fuori grew up in a small town on Long Island, New York and showed a talent with computers at an early age. He became an entrepreneur at a young age. Building a small landscaping business which funded him through college.

Michael went to college at, Nassau Community College, where he carried a 4.0 average. Michael then transferred to Hofstra University where he completed his four years, graduating with a Bachelor of Science with a minor in accounting.

Michael was a published author before the age of 25, coauthoring “Introduction to Pascal Programming Language” and “Introduction to Fortran Programming Language”. Michael went on to work at Chase Manhattan Bank as a junior COBOL programmer. After his day job was over, he went to work a bar in Levittown New York which he had purchase shortly after starting his position with Chase. He then moved into a senior analyst position at Morgan Stanley. In 1995, he landed a job at IMRS, later to become Hyperion, then to be bought by the Oracle corporation.

Michael become one of the elite consultant in Financial Consolidations product suite with Hyperion. He left Hyperion and was hired by Warner Music Group. One year later he started his own Hyperion Consulting firm, Lindin Consulting. Then in 2002 merged companies to form Pinnacle where he was CFO & COO. He landed both companies on the Inc-500 fastest growing companies in America, as recognized by Inc Magazine. Michael has spoken at dozens of technical conferences as one of the leading subject matter experts in the field of Financial Consolidations for Hyperion EPM.

Despite the challenges he faced from his mental disorders, Michael & his partner, built Pinnacle into a fifty-person multimillion dollar firm. Later in 2008 they sold their consulting company. After spending a few years as an independent consultant, he settled down taking the lead role; Principal Data & Information Architect with the General Electric company, where he is still employed today.

Michael was married at the age of 28, has three lovely children, Austin, Lindsay, and Tyler. Michael was proud to be an assistant manager, then manager of his son Tyler’s little league baseball team. At the age of fifty, Michael was diagnosed with having ADHD and being bipolar. After 30 plus years of marriage Michael and his wife Laura divorced in 2023.

Throughout his life, Michael loved solving puzzles. That fondness for puzzle solving transformed into his love of solving problems for his customers through custom software. Michael believes that if you worked hard enough, have no fear of failing, that there isn’t any technical problem which can’t be solved. He especially liked the challenge to make things process faster. He loved taking on the challenges where others have failed. Michael sets an extremely high standard for himself. Optimizing, creating, and building software solutions which deliver real value to his customers, is what drives Michael to the high levels of success he aspires to. Michael has been involved in several mentoring programs.

Michael loves Baseball, but enjoys all sports, rooting for the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and New York Rangers. He has a passion for golf and picked up the sport of curling several years ago. Michael hopes that one day he can have that perfect round of golf where he can break even par. Michael is an avid gardener and landscaper. He has built several koi ponds and finds the sounds of the rushing water is very relaxing and comforting.

Michael now lives in The Villages, Florida. As of 2024 he lives with his parents, where he helps take care of his 85-year old mother and 86-year old father.

One of Michael’s new goals in life is to be able to help other people through their life challenges by learning from his own experiences. As a business owner, divorced father. As a man who after fifty, discovered he lived most of his life fighting with a mental disorder. Michael wrote this book to hopefully help other people that might be getting ready or are currently going through a divorce, or possibly struggling with mental health issues, so that they are more prepared and equipped for life’s “little” challenges.
