Johnnie Dixon, III, was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and is a former NFL player and National Champion who graduated from Dwyer High School as a four-star recruit. He first found success in football when he helped Dwyer win its second Florida Class 7A State Championship and their first-ever perfect season (15-0). Johnnie was named second team all-state in 2013 and played his best football game in the state playoffs with 17 receptions for 366 yards and six touchdowns in Dwyer's five-game run to the state title. Rated the 34th prospect in the nation on the ESPN 300 and its fifth-rated wide receiver, Johnnie committed to The Ohio State University in 2014.
Despite battling through injuries and the depression and mental health struggles that followed, Johnnie still assisted the Buckeyes in their win at the first College Football Playoff National Championship in 2014. After ongoing recovery from injuries led to mental health challenges in 2015, Johnnie made a comeback in 2017 and 2018 to achieve a combined 1,111 reception yards and 16 touchdowns with the Buckeyes.
Johnnie is the first person in his family to graduate from a college university with a degree in Sociology and Human Development and Family Services. His professional football journey included time with the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, and Dallas Cowboys, where he caught his first NFL touchdown pass during a pre-season game in 2021. Johnnie found success in the USFL with the New Orleans Breakers as a starting receiver, leading the team in both receptions and touchdowns with 37 receptions for 359 yards and four touchdowns.
Today, Johnnie is focused on helping athletes overcome their anxiety and depression stemming from sports-related injuries. Using his first-hand knowledge of the metaphorical Goliaths athletes face today, Johnnie also wants to help athletes prepare for and adjust to life after football. Johnnie currently lives in Arizona with his wife Viv, their son Johnnie Dixon, IV, and daughter Zya, and has a passion for being in the kitchen and cooking for his family and friends. He also enjoys photography and aspires to become an actor one day.
