Wayne A. Ewing

Wayne Ewing served as his spouse's 24/7 dementia care partner during her five year journey into and through the land of forgetfulness. His spouse, the late Ann Margaret Wentz Ewing, PhD, was a high-profile, pioneering feminist therapist in Denver, Colorado, and active in the Denver business women's community and organization. She was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia, Alzheimer's Type, at age 55.

Wayne is a retired Episcopal priest, pastoral counselor, and academic, having taught at colleges, universities, and seminaries here and abroad. He is currently a staff writer and columnist with the award-winning Wet Mountain Tribune, a 134 year-old weekly, independently owned newspaper serving Custer County Colorado.

His meditative writings--Tears in God's Bottle and In the Land of Forgetfulness--quietly and conversationally reflect on the spiritual dimensions of dementia care.

Tears in God's Bottle earned multiple wards upon publication: Book of the Year, Religion, second place, Foreword Magazine; Finalist, Benjamin Franklin Award; GLYPH awards for Best Book in Religion and Inspirational/Spirituality categories, and Best First Book by a new publisher; Clara Award. To date, In the Land of Forgetfulness has placed second in the Colorado Author's League Adult Non-Fiction category, and was a Finalist in the Book Excellence awards. Currently a featured book in the Adelaide Adventure Seekers, In the Land of Forgetfulness will be listed in 2027 Alzheimer's Disease Book Club Community Reading Challenge.
