Gabriel Meyer

Gabriel Meyer is an author, essayist and international hospitality executive whose writing draws on more than four decades of life and work across five continents.

Born in El Salvador to a Swiss father and a French mother, Meyer grew up between countries, languages and cultures—an experience that has deeply shaped his view of people, identity and human relationships. His international career later took him through Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, providing the encounters and experiences that form the background to much of his writing.

He is the author of From Hotelier to Consultant and several works on hospitality, management and leadership. His writing has since expanded beyond professional nonfiction into essays and fiction.

His novel The Man No One Sees: A Grand Hotel Novel of Havana, and its Spanish edition El hombre que nadie ve, take readers to Havana in the years surrounding the Cuban Revolution, exploring the lives that unfold behind the public grandeur of a great hotel.

Across fiction and nonfiction, Meyer writes about people: ambition and dignity, success and failure, belonging, memory, leadership, and the often unseen lives behind the roles we play.

Gabriel Meyer writes in English, French and Spanish.
