My creative outlets serve as an experiment in pushing the boundary between mindfulness and transcendentalism.

I put a tremendous amount of creative efficacy on the tension between making the viewer (or reader) feel pressure—an effort to make the ordinary feel squeamish.

Nostalgia is an important aspect to this process. Once we trigger our memory network with images or word phrases our minds engage in a neurological flooding that sends messages to our body to feel and evoke a reaction. These reactions often differ depending on the individual. When we as individuals react to works of art similarly it transcends a personal experience to a collective experience that many refer to as a collective consciousness.

For me, this often elevates everyday life into extraordinary fragments in time. As an artist I can use the medium to take you further into my memory network or prompt you to start your own. This effect gives urgency to art creating dialogue we then shape collectively into expanding our futures or recreating the past.

My BFA in Art Education from the University of Arkansas In 2009 and MS in Professional Counseling help shape my voice as a writer. I have always been interested in family dynamics and how it shapes our identities.

In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, drawing, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
