PASTOR
David Towner is the senior pastor of The Harbor Church in Odessa, Florida, a church he and his wife, Tonya, replanted in 1998. Since the church’s re-inception, The Harbor Church has become a place where the abused, addicted, broken, confused, grieved, and desperate find victory, recovery, hope, and healing.
BOOKS
David’s first book, Today Is My Favorite Day, was born following a series of family misfortunes and a diagnosis of cancer. He co-authored the Today Is My Favorite Day Workbook with his wife Tonya and published the Today Is My Favorite Day Prayer Book from prayers he wrote while fighting cancer.
FAMILY
David has three daughters, four grandsons, and three cats. He is NOT a fan of cat box cleaning but does it because his wife loves cats, and he loves his wife. He believes in the old saying, “Happy wife, happy life.” David enjoys all sports, the outdoors, paddle boarding on the lake and the gulf, reading, playing board games, working out at the gym, and going on vacations with his family.
GRIEF
In 2022, David and Tonya lost their youngest daughter, Rebekah, in a tragic motorcycle accident. The devastating news caused both to gaze at God more than ever before. They collaborated with counselors and therapists who specialized in grief and read multiple grief books to help them reach a healthier place. They also used the Today Is My Favorite Day books as added tools to work through their grief. They found the TIMFD Prayer Book to be extremely helpful and have recommended it to hundreds of people working through the grieving process.
