John Strommen is a Lutheran pastor, writer and theologian. Late in his career, he returned to school to complete a Masters of Theology degree at Luther Seminary on the importance of bringing Martin Luther's core theological insights into conversation with twenty-first century experience. Nobody understood better than Luther the depth of our human brokenness and the promise of wholeness born of our dependency on the God who created us out of love for love. A full treatment of his exploration of this topic will be available in his next book, Becoming Human Again, due out in late 2025.
John grew up in Richfield, MN; was a captain of Richfield's varsity basketball team; graduated magna cum laude from Augsburg University, with a B.A. in philosophy; is an accomplished photographer with his own website, and has a passionate interest in jazz, cinema, and travel. John is also an avid sports fan, while being fully cognizant that following Minnesota sports teams is hazardous for one's mental health.
