Tracy Redhead

Tracy Redhead is a musician, composer, researcher, and producer with over two decades of experience in the music industry, interactive media, and music technology. She began her career as a singer-songwriter and is now at the forefront of interactive music. Tracy holds a Master of Arts and a PhD in Music and currently serves as Chair of Contemporary Popular Music and a lecturer in Electronic Music and Sound Design at the University of Western Australia. Her groundbreaking work in dynamic and transmutable music is reflected in her new book, Interactive Technologies and Music Making: Transmutable Music (Routledge, 2024). Tracy has contributed significantly to the industry, serving as a senior researcher and project manager for major initiatives, including The Economic and Cultural Value of Australian Music Exports ARC Linkage project. This three-year study led to the Born Global industry report and the co-authored book The Music Export Business: Born Global (Routledge, 2021). As an artist, Tracy has released multiple albums, collaborated with global artists, and earned acclaim for her solo work.
