Kathleen Conklin

Kathleen Conklin was born in a small town in eastern Connecticut in the 1960s, growing up as the only girl among three brothers who seemed determined to keep her on her toes.

Books and music have always been Kathleen's passions. From the moment she learned to read, she always had a book in hand, and soon after, she began writing her own stories. An accomplished pianist, she enjoys composing her own music. Her love for sports also flourished in high school, where she played softball and basketball, and continued in college, where she took up rugby.

Kathleen earned her B.A. in Political Science from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She then embarked on a successful 24-year career with Aetna in Hartford, CT, eventually retiring from a corporate executive position. Following her corporate career, she pursued her true calling, earning a Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts from St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT.

In 2010, Kathleen began her teaching career, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She taught third grade for ten years and second grade for two, before retiring in June 2022 to focus on her health and her writing.

Kathleen splits her time between her home in Connecticut and her cherished camp in East Machias, Maine. Her rescue dog, Sunny, and her cat, Rascal, are her most beloved companions.
