I specialize in the intersection of disaster management and global business strategies, with a particular emphasis on fostering social impact aimed at helping communities achieve greater levels of disaster resiliency.

My educational background is robust, encompassing multiple graduate degrees including a Ph.D. in Disaster Science and Management. Furthermore, I have earned recognition as a highly regarded scholar, boasting a significant body of work on “Symbolic Humanitarianism” with an extensive portfolio of published books and scientific articles featured in top-tier journals. Throughout my academic journey, I have held important faculty positions in distinguished public and private universities.

My humanitarian experience has been equally impactful, as I have had the privilege of collaborating with various global humanitarian organizations, such as the United Nations, Right to Play, Action Against Hunger, and Habitat for Humanity. My work has taken me to several developing countries, including Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Botswana, and India.
